Zayin Adar Brunch
Join the Seattle Jewish Chapel and the Seattle Sephardic Brotherhood at the inaugural Zayin Adar Brunch celebrating the birthday and Meldado/Yahrzeit of Moshe Rabbainu, Sunday March 12 at 11 am in the BCMH Social Hall.
We will be presenting Bellevue’s Deputy Mayor Jared Nieuwenhuis with the Hakarat Hatov award for leading the way in combating antisemitism in Washington state. Reservations and virtual journal ads are due by March 8
All proceeds to benefit Jewish education and youth programs.
About Zayin Adar- The 7th of the Hebrew month of Adar, is the day that Moses died and because God buried Moses, we celebrate those that bury others. As such we honor the Chevra Kadisha (the Jewish Burial Society) for their selfless devotion in performing this all-important mitzvah.
About our honoree: Bellevue’s Deputy Mayor Jared Nieuwenhuis has been instrumental in passing the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance’s working definition of antisemitism and combating hate not just in Bellevue but also in other cities and counties in Washington state.
