Hi everyone!  Short and sweet this week but LOTS to share about the next 2 ½ months:  Seattle NCSY’ers are off to LA and Vegas for their mid-winter shabbaton and they are missed already; Dr. Marc Kravette and his band of merry men are bringing us a spectacular DAIRY Kiddush this Shabbos; YAC’s swan song for the season will take place on Saturday night, March 3rd, 8:00 pm (location to be determined); Sisterhood is getting us ready for Purim with a Melava Malka on Saturday night, March 3rd, 8:00 pm, at Rivkah Isseroff’s for mask-making with Sherry Feuer, featured guest speaker is Mrs. Shirley Edelstone and delicious refreshments; BCMH Megilla Readings and Purim Party will take place on Wednesday night, March 7th (times to be determined); BCMH Annual Dinner, Sunday, March 11th (Make your reservations today!); The Hyman Family is hosting a Siyyum on the first anniversary of David’s yahrzeit on Wednesday night, March 14th, after 7:00 pm. APPLICATIONS FOR TEEN ISRAEL SCHOLARSHIP INFO

The first two deadlines to apply for an Israel Scholarship have passed! Subsequent application due dates are the following: April 19, 2012 and July 25, 2012 which must be at least three months prior to the teen’s date of departure as scholarships cannot be awarded on a retroactive basis.

For questions or to submit an Israel Scholarship application, please contact Annie Jacobson at AnnieJ@JewishInSeattle.org or call 206-774-2243.   Israel scholarships through the Jewish Federation are need based, but a wide variety of criteria is considered when reviewing each application.

To be eligible for a Teen Israel Scholarship, teens must be a permanent resident of Washington State, participate in an Israel program from the summer after ninth grade through high school graduation, select an Israel program that is an education youth/peer program and seek additional sources of scholarship funding.

Those who are granted a scholarship must complete volunteer service upon returning from Israel and must also write blog posts for, and submit photos to the Jewish Federation. Israel Scholarship awardees are granted on average between $1,000 and $3,000 toward their Israel program.
